18 Atlanta Educators Surrender in APS Cheating Scandal

All but four former Atlanta educators, now indicted on charges related to cheating children for their own financial benefit, have surrendered at the Fulton County Jail.

Some of them hid behind umbrellas as the entered the jail Tuesday. Former Superintendent Beverly Hall smiled as she walked into jail.

By 7:25 a.m. Wednesday, the educators who had turned themselves in included:

Armstead Salters (Principal, Gideons Elementary School, bonded out of jail)

Christopher Waller (Principal, Parks Middle School)

Gregory Reid (Assistant Principal, Parks Middle School, bonded out of jail)

Tabeeka Jordan (Assistant Principal, Deerwood Elementary School)

Sandra Ward (Testing Coordinator, Parks Middle School, bonded out of jail)

Sheridan Rogers (Testing Coordinator, Gideons Elementary School)

Donald Bullock (Testing Coordinator, Usher-Collier Heights Elementary School)

Theresia Copeland (Testing Coordinator, Benteen Elementary School, bonded out of jail)

Francis Mack (Testing Coordinator, D.H. Stanton Elementary School)

Tameka Goodson (School Improvement Specialist, Kennedy Middle School, bonded out of jail)

The educators were charged with false statements and writings, along with racketeering, a charge that each of the 35 educators faces.

Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard ordered the 35 indicted educators to surrender on Tuesday.
