Trance Trailer Will Trip You Out!

Trance is Danny Boyle’s latest dark and trippy thriller, and a new trailer has arrived to mess with your mind. I don’t know if it’s the dubstep music or the digital glitches but, unlike the previous two previews, my brain sure felt violated after watching this clip.  You can check out the trailer for yourself, below, and let me know if it was just me that got brain molested by this Trance trailer.

The film centers around a fine art auctioneer named Simon (James McAvoy), who conspires with a criminal gang to steal a multimillion dollar Goya painting, but after suffering a traumatic blow to the head he forgets where he hid the painting. Feeling double crossed, the gang’s leader Frank (Vincent Cassel) resorts to violent torture tactics that end up failing to produce results. He then hires hypnotherapist Elizabeth Lamb (Rosario Dawson) to drag the memories from Simon’s psyche, but this results in the stakes soaring higher than anticipated as the lines between truth, suggestion, and deceit begin to blur.

Oscar-nominated long term collaborator John Hodge (Shallow Grave, Trainspotting) helped Joe Ahearne to pen the script. Theoretically Slumdog Millionaire, 127 Hours, and Trainspotting can be used as indicators of how well Boyle’s psychological film will deliver,  but  we won’t know for sure until Trance is released in the UK and Ireland on March 27th and April 5th, 2013 in the US.
