ABC’s Scandal, season 2, returns tonight with a new episode, “Top of the Hour,” where Olivia finds herself in the middle of a media storm, but this time she’s on the opposing side of the oval office when Fitz’s pick for Supreme Court Justice is caught in a torrid affair with Liv’s new client, high-powered CEO Sarah Stanner. Meanwhile, Olivia and Jake continue their flirtatious relationship, while Huck takes Quinn under his wing and Harrison and Abby try to figure out where they stand with their friendship. Back in the White House, Cyrus and Mellie continue to fight for Fitz’s attention, but someone else may already have it.
The series is based around Olivia Pope, who has dedicated her life to protecting and defending the public images of the nation’s elite and keeping those secrets under wraps. Revered and feared at the same time, Olivia, a former communications director to the President of the United States, left the White House to open her own prominent crisis management firm. She is hoping to start a new chapter in her life — both professionally and personally — but she can’t seem to completely cut ties with her past Scandal. Slowly it becomes apparent that her dysfunctional staff, who specialize in fixing other people’s lives, can’t quite fix the ones closest at hand-their own.
Scandal season 2, episode 16 “Top of the Hour,” airs Thursday, March 21, at 10:00pm est on ABC. Spoiler pictures below:
