Sarah Jessica Parker has permanently damaged her feet and she’s blaming all the cheap heels she wore for certain roles, but perhaps it was just years of high heels that has the actress’s feet screaming.
There was rarely a time anyone saw Parker in shoes that weren’t heels and there were even fewer times that those heels weren’t sky high.
According to the “Sex and the City” star, it was only the cheap heels that she had to wear that damaged her feet and even created a new bone.
“I went to a foot doctor and he said, ‘Your foot does things it shouldn’t be able to do. That bone there… You’ve created that bone. It doesn’t belong there,’” she told Net-a-Porter.
After years of being one of the most high heel loving fashionistas in Hollywood, she’s going to have to give the fancy footwork a break.
“The moral of the story is, the chickens are coming home to roost,” she said. “It’s sad, because my feet took me all over the world, but eventually they were like, ‘You know what, we are really tired, can you stop – and don’t put cheap shoes on us?’”
She’s right, her feet did indeed take her all over the world, but she was also taking them all over the world in heels. Cheap or not, living most of your life in some sky high pumps probably isn’t the best thing for your feet.
She explained that she “literally ran in heels” almost every day on set for “Sex and the City” and she didn’t have much time to slip her feet out of the shoes before it was time to move on to another high heel filled scene.
“I worked 18-hour days and never took them off,” she admitted. “I wore beautiful shoes; some better made than others, and never complained.”
According to Sarah Jessica Parker it was her role for “I Don’t Know How She Does It” that really forced her feet to take a turn for the worse.
She opted out of the expensive well made shoes because her character, Kate, wouldn’t have been able to afford them.
“You know, [Kate Reddy] could not afford really good shoes, she would go to Nine West,” she said. “So I got shoes from there and the bottom of the shoes aren’t leather, they are plastic, so I slipped a couple times, twisted my ankle.”
After that role, her doctor gave her the diagnosis that ruined her fashionista days. She needed to push her heels to the back of the closet and give her feet the break they have been waiting all these years for.
Of course, the mother-of-three wouldn’t have had many opportunities to walk around in some of her fancy footwork anymore anyway, but we have a feeling that she definitely would have tried if her doctor would have allowed her to do so.
