Halle Berry is confirmed as the latest X-Men veteran to return for Bryan Singer’s upcoming time-bending project, X-Men: Days of Future Past. But despite the platinum hair, heavy makeup, white contacts, and demanding stunts, Berry is looking forward to tackling another role as the sexy weather goddess, Storm.
After having won the People’s Choice Award for “Favorite Female Action Star” the Oscar-winning actress is fully aware how much people love her character, and that makes her job of bringing bad weather much more enjoyable.
I am excited. I love Storm, said Berry in a recent interview with BlackTree TV. That’s one of my favorite characters that I’ve played. And people love that character as well.”
Halle Berry also added the complicated costume and makeup involved in the transformation into Storm won’t be a problem after playing six different characters in Cloud Atlas.
She said: “After Cloud Atlas any makeup job is a breeze. A breeze!”
Singer also confirmed Berry’s return via Twitter, tweeting “Couldn’t be more excited that #HalleBerry has joined the cast of #XMen #DaysofFuturePast”…“Hopefully she can improve the weather in Montreal.”
X-Men: Days of Future Past will bring together the characters of the X-Men trilogy and X-Men: First Class in a time bending storyline where the X-Men are warned of a future threat that imprisons mutants in concentration camps.
Berry joins Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, and Anna Paquin as the old faces of the mutant movie. James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, and Jennifer Lawrence will reprise their First Class roles as younger versions of the X-men.
Game of Thrones Peter Dinklage and French actor Omar Sy are among the new faces joining the cast.
X-Men: Days of Future Past is scheduled to hit U.S. theaters July 18, 2014.
