Mel B Booed at America's Got Talent Auditions, Lenny Kravitz Replaced in Movie

Mel B Booed At America’s Got Talent Auditions

Mel B, of the Spice Girls, was reportedly booed yesterday at America’s Got Talent auditions in New Orleans.

According to TMZ, new judge Mel B was “loudly booed” after criticizing the very first act of the day, a popular New Orleans brass band, saying she does not like jazz music. New Orleans, arguably the birthplace of jazz, may not have been the best place to bash the entire genre.  After Mel made the comment, audience members were heard shouting “Go home” and “No respect.”

NBC was quick to defend their choice to cast Mel. President of alternative television Paul Telegdy said in a statement: “I’ve known Melanie since she did Dancing with the Stars. To know her is to know a very frank, strong, enduring entertainer. [She’s] someone who has a very strong point of view.”

Mel joins fellow judges Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel for the upcoming season.

Lenny Kravitz Replacement Found for Marvin Gaye Movie

Lenny Kravitz has been replaced in the upcoming Marvin Gaye biopic, Sexual Healing. Jesse L. Martin will instead play the Motown legend.

No word on why producers made the last minute switch, or if Kravitz was replaced after Marvin Gaye’s son, Marvin Gaye III, slammed the project and Kravitz, alleging “[They’re] trying to do a film about a low period in his life. They don’t even know the whole story,” in a statement to TMZ.

Marvin Gaye III has yet to comment on the casting change.
