The beloved improv comedy show Whose Line Is It Anyway? is being revived by The CW, set to air new episodes this summer with the original cast, minus one key player.
Although no official release date has been announced for the summer the first talk of the show making a comeback was leaked by an original cast member via twitter. Colin Mochrie sent out a coy tweet yesterday that just read: “Oh, by the way, Whose Line is coming back. More details later.” Later that afternoon an official statement was released by The CW confirming the shows premiere on the network.
Reportedly, the show will feature original cast players: Mochrie, Ryan Stiles and Wayne Brady ( who has had a pretty busy year already with his daytime game show Let’s Make A Deal). However, someone noticeably absent from the line up is the show’s original host, producer and occasional improviser, Drew Carey. His absence from the show could have something to do with his own daytime game show he hosts The Price Is Right. When Carey’s rep was asked about his absence she said she hadn’t heard anything about the revived show.
