Prince Rocks on Fallon with New Song, ‘Screwdriver’

Prince ruled “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon” on Friday with a performance of new song, “Screwdriver,” a literally smashing version of his 1979 tune “Bambi,” and news of a West Coast tour mentioned by Fallon.

After introducing him as “one of the most legendary and influential musicians of all time,” Jimmy Fallon said Prince will start a West Coast tour in mid-April and noted that both songs Prince performed on the show would be available at 3rdEyeGirl.com. He sang in that familiar falsetto and turned in one of his famously effortless solos before tossing the guitar into the air and letting it smash to the floor in a squall of feedback as he walked off stage without another word while the audience cheered.

The music, clearly, had spoken for itself.
