The 2013 Academy Awards Won't End With Best Picture

This 85th annual Academy Awards show is proving to be anything but traditional. Usually mere moments after the Best Picture award is doled out, the credits begin to roll and the audience is left to mull over another year of  moderately surprising Oscar awards. With first time host Seth MacFarlane, things are going to be very, very different this year.

Oscar producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron have added yet another star studded musical performance to this year’s telecast. Sorry to burst your bubble, but they aren’t inviting the cast of High School Musical to perform during the musicals tribute; Instead they are bringing out one of Broadway’s best, Miss Kristin Chenoweth. As seen on Variety, shortly after the awards portion of the show, MacFarlane and Chenoweth will take the stage for a fabulous, final musical number.

This year’s Oscar telecast will be one of the most musical, ever. As Who Got The Role mentioned earlier, Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway, Norah Jones, Adele, and Barbra Streisand are just a few of the highly anticipated vocalists to perform during the evening.

Looks like my dream of the Oscars becoming a full on musical production might just come true. Although, if I really wanted an entirely musicals based awards show I suppose I could just tune in to the Tony’s.
