A picture is worth a thousand words and apparently Fantasia’s latest picture on the cover of Jet magazine communicates a very old message. The American Idol winner took to her Instagram account to blast the magazine for using a decades-old picture of her for its cover story.
“This saddens Me!!! It is clear that this picture is 10 Years Old and JET Magazine puts it on the Cover!! After I send them the NEW LOOK AND DIRECTION. . SAD!!! I WANT A PUBLIC APOLOGY FROM JET. Now im not sure if the interview is correct. SEE!! America they and use me as they crash Dummy BUT NO MORE. IF I DONT STAND FOR SOMETHING ILL FALL FOR ANYTHING.”
It’s unclear if Fantasia’s stand against a 10-year-old photo is what most people would think of when they hear the phrase, “if you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything.”
It’s a shame that in the wake of what was an uplifting interview with the magazine, Fantasia chose to publicly lash out against Jet staff via Instagram. Social media is a great platform for celebrities to interact with their fans and promote their latest projects. However, Twitter and Instagram can be the kiss of career death for celebrities as well.
