First Clip From 'Monsters University' Arrives Via John Goodman

The unmistakable John Goodman appeared on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon recently, speaking on his latest popular projects which consist of Argo, The Hangover Part III, and of course, the heavily anticipated Monsters University.

The clip for Monsters University arrives just a couple of days after the first full-length trailer for the film, letting everyone know that the promotional campaign is — most assuredly — in full swing. It features Sully and Mike’s first meeting as dorm-mates, one in which Sully frantically wrestles with a pig before introducing himself. It also sets up an intriguing, odd-couple like dynamic between the two.

It’s hard to believe Monster’s Inc. came out in 2001, and equally unbelievable that Pixar would wait over ten years to provide a prequel or sequel. Interestingly enough, Monsters University marks the first time Pixar has ever made a prequel in their near-20-year run. Luckily, the film reassembles the starring trio of Goodman, Billy Crystal and Steve Buscemi while introducing characters voiced by David Spade, Julia Sweeney and Don Carlson, just to name a few.

As for John Goodman’s other projects, the versatile actor mentions how much fun it was to work on The Hangover Part III, of course, how Ben Affleck deserves nothing but praise for Argo, and how his new collaboration with the Coen brothers is “pretty cool”.

While we don’t enjoy providing Jimmy Fallon any sort of publicity (especially when free), enjoy the clip of John Goodman’s appearance below. If you would like to skip to the Monsters University clip, fast forward to the 2:30 mark in the video.
