Danny Boyle's 'Trance' Gets a Real Red Band Trailer

Danny Boyle’s heavily anticipated Trance has finally dropped its red band trailer, and it’s probably not a good idea to sneak a peak at it if you’re feeling a bit squeamish or can’t handle violent images.

Just so you’re forewarned, the latest trailer for Trance features stars Vincent Cassel and James McAvoy enduring and inflicting torture upon one another amidst some sort of hypnotic psychosis. Yes, that probably made you want to watch it more, but be forewarned we’re talking finger nails here. Finger nails, man.

Trance, of course, is Danny Boyle‘s latest feature film set for release in late March and early May (depending on where you live). It features McAvoy as an art auctioneer who has become mixed up with a group of criminals. He turns to a hypnotherapist in order to recover a lost painting they’re seeking, one he has allegedly stolen but cannot remember. The lovely Rosario Dawson plays the hypnotherapist while the always charismatic Vincent Cassel plays the head henchman.

To be quite frank, we’re more than excited to see Trance, we’re ecstatic. The combination of Cassell, McAvoy and Dawson makes for quite a formidable trio, and after seeing 2010’s 127 Hours, it’s quite clear the famed director has not lost his touch in the least. What Boyle can do with such a great cast and mysterious storyline is almost overwhelmingly intriguing.

A standard trailer for Trance was released last month, and we can’t help but recommend you click that link for your stomach’s sake. The restricted trailer (see: R-rated) trailer can be enjoyed below. Just try not to let its unfathomable conclusion disturb you too much.
