'Arrow', 'Vampire Diaries', 'Supernatural' All Renewed By The CW

On Monday, The CW announced the renewal of three of their top shows, including the beloved Vampire Diaries for a fifth season and the increasingly popular Arrow.

With these shows being two of The CW’s highest rated earners it was no surprise they were renewed, however, a bit more surprising was the renewal of a show coming back for a ninth season, Supernatural. This renewal will make Supernatural the networks now longest-running show. The president of The CW, Mark Pedowitz, made the announcement that these three shows will return in the fall.

In a recent interview, Pedowitz said: “Not only do The Vampire Diaries, Arrow and Supernatural perform well on-air, they’re also extremely successful for us both digitally and socially. I’m thrilled to have all three shows returning to our schedule next season.”

In addition to the renewals, The CW also has a few pilots in the mix for the upcoming season, including The Vampire Diaries spin off, The Originals. Click here for a list of all the 2013 upcoming drama season pilots.
