Watch out galaxy, funny man Chris Pratt is headed for you.
Chris Pratt has been cast as lead character, Star Lord, the films part-human part-alien leader of the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy.
Guardians of the Galaxy originated from a series that began in the late 1960’s and focused on a super-powered team of humans, aliens and bio-engineered creatures who patrol the milky way. The film is part of Marvel’s phase-two plan that was introduced last year at Comic-Con.
Recently it seems that Pratt has been accepting more serious roles, a change from the lovable goof-ball he plays on Parks and Recreation. He recently completely altered his body with a dramatic weight loss and gain for his role in the highly acclaimed Zero-Dark Thirty.
On tap to direct the flick is James Gunn, also known for directing the 2006 skin-crawling film Slither. Based on director James Gunns’ genre of movies he has directed, and Chris Pratt’s typical funny-man persona, it leads us to the question: Will this film be serious or have a more comedic tone?
Looks like we will have a little more waiting to do, Guardians of the Galaxy is set for an August 2014 release date.
