Comedy Central has brokered a deal with Open Road Films, the company that released Marlon Wayans’ A Haunted House, to get the first window broadcast premiere of the new blockbuster comedy.
The deal was announced today by Comedy Central, David Bernath, Executive Vice President, Program Strategy and Multiplatform Programming, and Rand Stoll, Head of TV Sales for Open Road Films.
Stoll stated, “Comedy Central is the perfect home for A Haunted House and we are thrilled to be in business with them on these and hopefully future titles.”
Bernath added, “We are excited to have formed what we hope to be a lasting partnership with Open Road Films.”
Comedy Central’s Vice President of acquisitions Susie Kricena, negotiated the agreement with Stoll of Open Road Films. The first position window for A Haunted House will start March 2015 and will be exclusive to all Viacom Media Networks.
A synopsis for A Haunted House describes the films:
“In an outrageous send-up of the Paranormal Activity movies, The Devil Inside and other “found footage” movies, A Haunted House features young couple Malcolm (Marlon Wayans) and Kisha (Essence Atkins) who have just moved into their dream house. As they settle in, they quickly find they are not alone. But it is not the house that’s haunted, it is Malcolm’s girlfriend who is possessed by a demon. Malcolm hires everyone from a priest to modern day ghostbusters to rid her of this unwelcome intruder, determined not to let the evil spirit ruin his relationship… or, more importantly, his sex life”…
