Falcons Fan Stabbed in Neck Outside Dome After Loss

A Falcons fan was stabbed in the neck following the team’s NFL championship game loss to the San Francisco 49ers, and was listed in stable condition late Sunday night at Grady Memorial Hospital, according to local reports.

According to Channel 2, the fan, having just left the Georgia Dome, began arguing with a small group of 49ers fans in the silver lot outside Gate D. The argument escalated, say witnesses, with the Falcons booster punching a San Francisco fan in the face.

At that point, someone pulled out a knife, slashing the 35-year-old man, reports Channel 2. He was transported to the hospital in stable condition.

The slasher remains at large.

Georgia World Congress Center police, who are handling the investigation, say they hope to speak to a woman spotted in the area, though it’s unclear whether they view her as a suspect or witness.
