Jake and the Never Land Pirate star Colin Ford, will play Joe, in CBS’ television adaption of the Stephen King novel Under the Dome. The character Joe is a teenager whose parents are trapped on the other side of a mysterious transparent dome that appeared around their small town of Chester Mill, New England.
The Under the Dome show has sparked plenty of interest lately as many critics expressed that they would love to see the King masterpiece played out on the TV screen. The series is do to premiere this summer as a 13-episode show on CBS and the pilot will be directed by Niels Arden Oplev (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) and written by Brian K. Vaughan (Lost).
Besides this new job, Ford currently has a lead role on the third season of Disney Junior award-winning musical, Jake and the Never Land Pirates, which is scheduled to premiere in February. His feature credits include We Bought a Zoo, Push and Eye of the Hurricane. As far as his experience of the small screen, the young star’s work is limited. To date, he’s only played a few parts, where he starred as a young Sam Winchester, on the CW’s Supernatural. Ford also voiced small roles for Fox’s Family Guy and The Mob Doctor.
Under the Dome is produced by Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment and will premiere June 24, at 10/9c on CBS.
