Gabrielle Union, Halle Berry and More Show Skin For 2013 BET Honors

Gabrielle Union, Halle Berry, Alicia Keys, and many other fabulous celeb ladies took the 2013 BET Honors red carpet in style and made sure they showed off some sexy skin and serious fashion sense.

The event which celebrates extraordinary African Americans in the fields of art, literature, media, entertainment, and more was held in Washington D.C. and the ladies showed up in style.

Gabrielle Union was the hostess for the BET Honors, so the Fashion Police were waiting to see what the daring fashionista would rock for the special occasion.

Union definitely didn’t look her age – and we mean that in a good way.

The 40-year-old actress was putting the young folks to shame in a gorgeous green gown that left the middle of her torso exposed.

The gown fitted her curves perfectly and the opening in the front was just wide enough to show off a little cleavage without giving away all the goodies. Along with the sexy ensemble she wore her hair in a sleek fashion, draped over one of her shoulders.

As if that wasn’t enough, the sexy “Think Like A Man” actress slipped into a red gown that gave the cameras all the side boob they could have asked for before the outfit would have been deemed a wardrobe malfunction.

The audience couldn’t help but laugh as the hostess changed into outfit after outfit throughout the night, and made yet another joke about her NBA boyfriend Dwyane Wade not putting a ring on her finger yet.

She was quoted not too long ago saying that the couple didn’t want to rush things, but we’re starting to get the feeling that that wasn’t entirely true.

The good news, if Wade does decide to put a ring on Gabby’s finger he’ll know that his bride looks stunning in white.

Union attended the Debra Lee Pre-Dinner for the BET Honors at the Library of Congress in a stunning white dress with some chic silver pumps.

The strapless gown looked like a shorter version of a fabulous wedding gown – perhaps another hint to boyfriend Dwyane?

Either way, she looked gorgeous in all white and hopefully we’ll see her in yet another all white gown soon.

Another actress in her 40s took the red carpet in a form fitting gown that proved a good work out regimen and exercise can obliterate any post pregnancy baby weight.

Halle Berry flaunted her flawless bod in a strapless Monique Lhuiller dress with a high slit that showed off her toned legs.

In addition to being praised for her classy fashion sense, the “Cloud Atlas” star was also the recipient of the Award for Service.

Luckily, Berry didn’t take the Angelina Jolie approach as far as posing with the high slit.

Instead she stuck her leg out for one or two photos to show off her gorgeous gold strappy heels before gracefully walking off along side another gorgeous celeb mommy – Alicia Keys.

Alicia Keys was a little more covered up, but she wasn’t turning down the sexy.

The mother of one opted for a fitted black one shoulder gown that kept all the class without losing any of the sex appeal.

Keeping in line with the classic simple black look she rocked her short cut slicked back with a bright red lipstick for a pop of color.

When she hit the stage, however, to perform “Brand New Me” she changed into a red cropped top and matching maxi skirt.

R&B songstress Kelly Rowland also took to the carpet in an all black number that hugged her curves perfectly and looked great with her usual big curly do.

Other fabulous stars such as Chaka Khan, Erykah Badu, BET Chief Executive Debra Lee, and celebrity trainer Jeanette Jenkins also took the 2013 BET Honors red carpet in style.

Democracy needs journalism it can trust.

This election season, the stakes are higher than usual — and so is the pressure on newsrooms to soften their coverage, stay quiet, or just disappear. Independent reporting, the kind that answers to readers instead of advertisers or political pressure, matters more in a moment like this, not less.

For over 14 years, Atlanta Black Star has stayed independent and reader-funded. We have no corporate owner and no shareholders telling us what to cover or how to cover it. That independence is also our biggest vulnerability: nothing protects it except readers choosing to fund it directly.

Newspaper ad revenue has fallen more than 80% since 2005, and local newsrooms are closing at a rate of roughly two a week nationwide. When outlets go under in a moment like this, it's rarely the independent, reader-funded ones that get to stick around.

We know a request for support isn't why you came here. But without readers choosing to fund this work directly, the depth of reporting we can do at home and abroad shrinks along with everyone else's. If you're not in a position to give, that doesn't change how much we value you as a reader.

If you are able to, a recurring contribution does more for us than a single one-time gift, because it lets us plan the next investigation instead of just the next invoice. It takes about 30 seconds, no long form, no account. Thank you for continuing to support independent journalism and freedom of the press.
