Relativity Media has distributed a new trailer for Jon Lucas and Scott Moore’s 21 and Over, the next big movie featuring everything that can and will go wrong when partaking in copious amounts of partying.
21 and Over follows Casey and Miller (played by Skylar Astin and Miles Teller, respectively), best friends of the straight-A college student Jeff Chang (Justin Chon) who has just turned 21. The two friends surprise Chang for his birthday, convincing him to do the unexpected for a change and celebrate his 21st the best way possible — by partying as much as possible. What they don’t know (or choose to forget) is that Jeff Chang’s critical med school interview is the following morning and that one beer can easily turn into a night of chaotic indulgence and debauchery.
Directors/writers Jon Lucas and Scott Moore are the masterminds behind The Hangover and The Hangover 2. Their talent — combined with the direction of Todd Phillips — showcases exactly what the duo has to offer to the film community: absolute hilarity. However, one should also acknowledge they are the brains behind such flops as The Change-Up and Ghosts of Girlfriends Past.
Hopefully, Lucas and Moore’s talents behind the camera will be as fetching as their talent behind a keyboard. 21 and Over marks the duo’s first attempt in directing, and it’s nice to see they’ve chosen to play to their strengths (see: alcohol). While the film is certainly not giving audiences anything new or innovative, 21 and Over looks to be in touch with college life and humor, making for an otherwise attractive project.
21 and Over is in the last stages of post-production and is set to hit theaters March 1. Until then, check out the first trailer and compare it to the newest trailer below. The film looks to have plenty of laughs to go around. Enjoy.
