Season one American Idol winner, Kelly Clarkson announced on Twitter, that she was engaged. The singer tweeted to her followers, “I’M ENGAGED!!!!! I wanted y’all to know!! Happiest night of my life last night! I am so lucky and am with the greatest man ever :)”
The now engaged 30-year-old pop star will be marrying Brandon Blackstock, the son of Clarkson’s manager, Narvel Blackstock, who is married to country singer/actress Reba McEntire. After years of knowing each other, the two reconnected in Feburary at the Super Bowl, where Clarkson sang the national anthem.
According to Clarkson’s Twitter account, Blackstock gave her a yellow canary diamond ring with diamonds around it. The ring was designed by Blackstock and Johnathon Arndt.
Kelly Clarkson will be performing at VH1 Divas concert honoring Donna Summer and Whitney Houston, whom both died earlier this year. The event will be airing tonight at 9pm on VH1.
