Toni Braxton returned home after she was hospitalized due to complications caused by Lupus while her sister Tamar explains her own health issues are the real reason behind skin bleaching rumors.
Toni was diagnosed with the auto immune disease Lupus and complications from the illness recently sent the R&B superstar to the hospital.
She told her fans via Twitter last week that she was being admitted to the hospital to receive treatment for blood clots as well as other Lupus related health issues. Luckily, however, her stay in the hospital wasn’t too long.
Braxton has finally returned home from the hospital and is bringing a nurse along for the ride to help her fight the dreadful sickness.
“Going home today,” the Grammy-Award winning R&B songstress tweeted in high spirits. “I have a nurse coming to the house for a couple days, maybe I can sneak out & see Diezel’s 1st play ‘A Mid Summers Dream.’”
Meanwhile, Tamar’s own health issues have received some media attention after she had to explain away rumors that she had been bleaching her skin.
With her own hit single reaching #2 on iTunes and a spin off reality show Tamar is certainly out of her sister’s shadow, but she still has to get used to the media spotlight.
During an interview with Bossip, the younger Braxton sister had to explain that her skin wasn’t getting lighter because of bleach it was simply a part of having vitiligo.
“I just want to know what time do I have to do that,” she said in response to the rumors of her bleaching her skin. “If you really think about it, we’ve been shooting ‘Braxton Family Values’ for two years and then in between that it was ‘Tamar & Vince,’ and now we’re back into production with ‘Braxton Family Values.’”
Before her own medical history surfaced, she explained that nobody looks the same way they did when they were a child.
“I just think I grew up and I don’t look the same that I did when I was 19,” the 35-year-old R&B singer added.
Her husband, Vincent Herbert, on the other hand had a more surprising explanation.
“Actually, Tamar has the same thing that Michael Jackson had,” Herbert piped in. Tamar immediately clarified the statement by explaining she has vitiligo before quickly changing the subject.
Despite all the rumors, however, the younger Braxton sister’s new hit song “Love and War” topped the charts at #1 on iTunes thanks to a little help from a dear friend and of course her loyal fans.
Braxton’s husband discovered and signed Lady Gaga, launching the pop star to the successful career she has today. To return the favor, Gaga made sure she helped to promote Tamar’s new song via Twitter.
“K I NEVER PROMOTE ARTISTS but if u want your mind blown check @tamarbraxtonher ‘Love & War’ She’s Toni Braxton sister + her voice is BEYOND,” Gaga tweeted to her army of little monsters.
She went on to explain that Braxton’s husband is the reason she is where she is today and that since then she has become good friends with Toni’s sister.
