Lady Gaga has purchased 55 items once belonging to Michael Jackson, including the jacket he wore on the Bad tour, reports the Associated Press.
Julien’s Auctions administered the sale, which also sold two of his famous bedazzled gloves for $100,000 each.
Featuring the collection of Jackson’s costume designers Dennis Tompkins and Michael Bush, the auction raised more than $5 million dollars, which a portion of proceeds going to Guide Dogs of America and Nathan Adelson Hospice of Las Vegas.
Gaga, excited about her purchase, tweeted reverently: “The 55 pieces I collected today will be archived & expertly cared for in the spirit & love of Michael Jackson, his bravery, & fans worldwide.”
It’s been a busy week for Gaga, who also took time from her Born This Way Ball tour to visit children in South Africa. Dressed in an uncharacteristically demure white dress and neck scarf, the singer greeted young fans on a tour stop to Johannesburg.
