R. Kelly may bring his hip-hop opera “Trapped in the Closet” to Broadway. The R&B singer, who premiered a new chapter of “Trapped in the Closet” in New York on Monday, said he just received an offer to bring the musical saga to the Great White Way.
“I just got an offer from Broadway to do a… version. That’s in the works,” Kelly told audiences in a question and answer session after the screening. Kelly has written, starred and produced all 23 chapters of “Trapped,” an over-the-top serial music video that has developed a cult following. IFC will air the 23rd chapter this Friday.
