In addition to all the new music dropping this week, there have also been some notable videos released from Kelly Rowland and Chrisette Michele.
Chrisette Michele goes a classic look with “Charades,” a black and white video appropriate for her upcoming mixtape, titled Audrey Hepburn. While the old Hollywood makeup compliments the smooth, mid-tempo song, her black leotard and glitzy eye makeup are a bit too reminiscent of Beyonce’s now iconic “Single Ladies” video.
“Charades” also features Michele on a couch with some serious eye candy, smoking a cigarette while gazing at a city view.
Michele spoke out on the video, claiming, “Well, I’ve decided 2 be brave and share what I was gonna share even tho it’s a little bit different… I’ve never worn my heart on my sleeve.”
Kelly Rowland nearly melts the screen in “ICE,” a collaboration with Lil Wayne, which will be the first single off her upcoming 2013 album, Year of the Woman. While Lil Wayne does not appear in the video, “ICE” does feature an attractive man that Rowland lusts after.
Rowland commented on the sultry video, noting, “The sensuality of ‘ICE’ is completely pronounced in this video from it being so cold that it’s hot to so hot that it’s cold.”
The mid-tempo jam also features a few dance breaks, something we haven’t seen much of from Rowland since her Destiny’s Child days. The video will likely build momentum for Rowland, who was recently lined up for the latest installment of VH1′s “Diva’s Live” series.
