Brandon T. Jackson Lands Lead Role In ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ Reboot; Can He Carry The Role?

CBS’ Beverly Hills Cop reboot is shaping up and the studio has just officially signed on actor-comedian Brandon T. Jackson for the lead.

The pick of Jackson is no surprise. A few weeks ago, Humor Mill reported that the show was going to close the deal with the young actor.

Eddie Murphy and The Shield creator Shawn Ryan will executive produce the Sony TV-produced project. Last year, during an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, the funnyman Murphy talked about the idea for the show saying, “what I’m trying to do now is produce a TV show starring Axel Foley’s son, and Axel is the chief of police now in Detroit. I’d do the pilot, show up here and there…”

Jackson started his career as a comedian, he appeared in films like Tropic Thunder, Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief and Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son.

The young actor is funny but could he sit in a seat in which Eddie Murphy warmed up? Rumor has it that Murphy is who suggested Jackson. According to the source, Murphy is said to be a fan of the Jackson and his stand-up. We will see when the pilot hits the air…
