Watch the New 'GI Joe: Retaliation' Trailer Now

A new trailer for GI Joe: Retaliation has recently surfaced online, providing audiences with yet another dose of action packed, one-liner-filled, and star studded fun.

GI Joe: Retaliation has been a work in progress since the 2009 release of GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra. The film was originally slated for release this summer, but has since gone under script revision, 3D additions in post production, and lengthy reshoots. As a result, audiences are being forced to wait until March 2013 for Retaliation‘s release. From the looks of the trailer, it’ll be well worth the wait

While Joseph Gordon-Levitt will not be reprising his role and Dennis Quaid is nowhere to be found on the cast list, the likes of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Bruce Willis have stepped in to do what they do best: kicking butt and looking cool (at the same time!). Of course, the charming Channing Tatum will be reprising his role, as will Ray Park, Jonathan Pryce and Byung-hun Lee. We’re also a bit disheartened to learn Marlon Wayans has also dropped out of the sequel.

In any case, GI Joe: Retaliation sees our American heroes quite disoriented after Zartan authorizes an air strike on their base while masquerading as the President of the United States. He declares them traitors, and the Joes are forced to fight to restore justice and clear their names. As you might have guessed, it’s going to take a lot a bullets, CGI, and over-the-top violence in order to do so.

By now, anyone who’s planning on seeing GI Joe: Retaliation should know exactly what they’re in for. They should also be more than excited by what the trailer below promises: more of the same, but with more stars, weaponry and explosions. Bruce Willis’s self-deprecation regarding his age is also something to look forward to, as the trailer does a good job of throwing that in for comic relief.  Be sure to catch the film in theaters on March 29th next year, and  enjoy the GI Joe: Retaliation trailer below!
