For Bobby Brown, 2012 must be the worst of times and the even worser of times. Brown was arrested again for driving under the influence early this morning in Los Angeles—six months after he was arrested on another DUI charge in San Fernando Valley in March.
So let’s summarize Brown’s year: death of his ex-wife and baby mama Whitney Houston, DUI arrest, getting kicked out of Houston’s funeral in front of the world, wedding to Alicia Etheridge in Hawaii, news that his daughter Bobbi Kristina was going to be starring in a reality show just months after her mother died, his new wife being rushed to the hospital because of seizures, another DUI arrest.
And as Bobbi Kristina and the rest of the Houston clan go before the world in their reality show, “The Houstons: On Our Own,” which debuts on Lifetime at 9 p.m., there are rumors flying around the Internet that 19-year-old Bobbi Kristina may be pregnant with the baby of her adopted stepbrother, Nick Gordon.
That’s a lot for any man to take in one year. A lot of people would be hitting the bottle under those circumstances.
Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson Venus Hall told RapFix that the “My Prerogative” singer was pulled over at the intersection of Corbin Avenue and Venture Blvd. According to TMZ, Brown was pulled over by a police cruiser after he was seen weaving between lanes. After smelling the strong odor of alcohol, officers decided to make Brown undergo a sobriety test, which he apparently failed. He was arrested and charged with a DUI, but eventually released. His last DUI came in March, just four days after the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office released the results of its autopsy of ex-wife Houston. He pled no contest to a lesser misdemeanor DUI charge in April and was placed on probation for three years and went to a alcohol abuse treatment center over the summer.
Apparently the treatment didn’t take.
