Elizabeth Banks was recently cast as a lead in the new comedy Walk of Shame from director Stephen Brill. Variety tells us the comedy focuses on Bank’s character, a rising anchorwoman who interviews for her dream job. Banks believes she didn’t get the part and drowns her frustration in alcohol. She wakes up the next morning hungover in a strangers bed with no recollection of the night before. She also has a voice-mail from her agent revealing that she actually did get the gig and needs to report to work by 5pm. Banks will then attempt to get home via “walk of shame“, get her life together, and make it to work on time.
Banks as Effie Trinket in ‘The Hunger Games’It’s fair to say Banks is on the rise as one of Hollywood’s hottest actresses. She’s starred in wide variety of roles from a vibrant and snobby Effie Trinket in The Hunger Games to police negotiator in Man on a Ledge, to an emotional mom-to-be in What to Expect When You’re Expecting and even as Alex Baldwin’s political baby mama on NBC’s 30 Rock. Banks has proven her comedic abilities in movies like 40 Year Old Version, Zack and Miri Make a Porno, cult classic Wet Hot American Summer and as producer/ actress in the recently released Pitch Perfect.
Walk of Shame sounds like Anchorman meets The Hangover with a perfectly hilarious female lead and I couldn’t be more excited to see it. Will you go see Walk of Shame?
