Director Jose Padilha is taking some creative liberties in his remake of the 1987 classic RoboCop. Padilha equipped RoboCop with a new motorcycle and weapons to fight crime in the mean streets of Chicago.
Filming is underway in Toronto for RoboCop and some photos of Joel Kinnaman suited up as RoboCop, mounted on top of his crotch rocked, appeared online. In the photos below, RoboCop can be seen in his mat black body armor blending seamlessly with his custom sport bike.
In the film, Kinnaman plays Alex Murphy, a cop who is critically injured by Clarence Boddicker’s team of goons. What’s left of Murphy is saved by a new break though in robotics technology, turning Murphy into part man and part robot. Now, Murphy returns to the crime-ridden streets, where he battles with haunting memories from his past.
The August 9, 2013 release co-stars Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, and Samuel L. Jackson, as well as Abbie Cornish, Jackie Earle Haley, Michael K. Williams, Jay Baruchel, Jennifer Ehle, and Marianne Jean-Baptiste.
