According to Deadline.com, the role of Anna Nicole Smith has finally been cast. The Lifetime biopic on the troubled Playboy bunny will star Agnes Bruckner, a Private Practice alumnus. Sources say the hunt for Anna Nicole Smith has been a long one, but Lifetime is pleased with the casting of Bruckner.
The biopic will center on Smith’s turbulent rise to fame and the tragic consequences for her and her equally as troubled son, Danny. Smith notoriously gained fame for marrying an 89-year-old billionaire. The Texas born stripper then tried her hand at acting and even a reality TV show before her death by overdose in 2007.
This certainly won’t be Lifetime’s first biopic. The network loves profiling a large range of famous faces – ranging from convicted killers to A-list actresses. Unless you’ve been living under a rock the past year, you’ve seen advertisements for Lifetime’s newest original movie Liz & Dick, starring Lindsay Lohan as Elizabeth Taylor. At this rate, the sticky-fingered, drunk driving teen star, Lohan, will soon be getting her own Lifetime original movie too.
