Sahara Davenport of RuPaul’s Drag Race Dead

The death of a favorite on the second season of RuPaul’s Drag Race, Sahara Davenport, has shocked Hollywood and beyond. The cause of death is unknown.

Sources close to the victim say that family and friends of Davenport are mourning his death. RuPaul said he is “shocked and heartbroken” over the news. “Never occurred to me that we’d ever lose one of my girls. I see them as immortal.”

Bravo host, Andy Cohen, tweeted that the death was “very sad,” and Michelle Visage, a TV/radio host, tweeted she was too upset by the news to stay online.

The 20-30 something female impersonator/singer/dancer whose real name was Antoine Ashley was said to be one of the most prominent drag queens in the business. The performer released two singles in the last two years: “Pump With Me” and “Go Off.” A native of Dallas, TX, Davenport moved to New York City after earning a bachelor degree in Fine Arts at Southern Methodist University. Davenport leaves behind boyfriend Karl Westerberg aka Manila Luzon who competed on RuPaul’s Drag Race in season three.
