First Trailer for 'The Lone Ranger' Leaked

The first trailer for the upcoming film The Lone Ranger was released last night during Armie Hammer’s appearance on Jay Leno’s late night talk show. Now, courtesy of comicbookmovie.com, it has begun surfacing online.

The trailer, as most are nowadays, appears to be layered in style. Tom Wilkinson’s voiceover discusses the rise of railroads in the American west as slow-motion action scenes play out. Soon, Johnny Depp’s voiceover replaces and discusses the need for a masked hero before breaking into regularly paced action sequences.

The Lone Ranger will star Armie Hammer as the title character and Johnny Depp as Tonto. While that would normally be tantalizing enough, it’s downright palpitating to know that Gore Verbinski will be directing the duo. And that’s not even mentioning the fact that the likes of Helena Bonham Carter, Tom Wilkinson, and Barry Pepper will also be co-starring.

With the amount of buzz The Lone Ranger has been receiving lately, it’s hard to imagine its release will not be until July 2013. That leaves plenty of time for movie nerds, critics, as well as your average moviegoer to gush or dismiss the trailer. So if you’ve missed Johnny Depp donning about 10 pounds of makeup and talking funny, waste no more time and check out the trailer below. Enjoy!
