Tomorrow, Emmanuel Jal will be hosting a business gala dinner at Juba’s Independence Hall. The Vice President of South Sudan, Dr Riek Machar will be in attendance as well as US rapper Darryl “DMC” McDaniels popularly of Run DMC duo. The anticipated affair will act as an ideal platform to connect the Government of South Sudan (GOSS), the private sector, UN agencies, NGOs and the diplomatic corps, with a focus on South Sudan’s responsible investment for long-term development and self-sustainability.
An intimate performance by Emmanuel Jal will entertain the VIP audience as they become acquainted with the country’s current and future potential. “Peace is good for business. Every single one of us has a responsibility to create a peaceful environment for all of us to thrive,”said Jal.
Then on Friday, DMC will headline a celebratory concert alongside Jal for the International Peace Day at the same venue. Jal said, “I’m sure everyone knows how I arrived in Juba to an unfortunate incident by perpetrators of our country’s justice, but this has only made me want to move faster and harder with this crucial message and celebration in my home nation.
This will be the biggest show South Sudan has ever seen and the business gala will remind us all that there is no good business without peace” An excited DMC added, “I can’t wait to touch down in Africa, I’ll be the first African American artiste to perform in South Sudan too…see you all on Friday!” Other popular local artists such as Silver X will act as curtain raisers.
