Tyler Perry Studio Catches Fire Second Time In Four Months

Tyler Perry Studio Fire: Four months ago in May Tyler Perry’s studio caught fire and on Monday morning the movie director was forced to watch as his studio went up in flames – again.

The cause of the fire back in May remained unknown and not many details have been released on the latest fire including if it was in the same building. However, police dispatchers reported, according to the AJC and WSB-TV, that the roof of a building at the complex on Continental Colony Parkway in southeast Atlanta caught fire.  It was a three-story, 100 by 200-foot building but luckily didn’t suffer any structural damage. Nearly two dozen firefighters were seen battling the blaze on the roof which they subdued in an under an hour.

No reports of injury have been filed at this time.

The first fire at Tyler Perry studios on May 1 required more than 100 firefighters as flames engulfed a simulated streetscape at the studios!

The 200,000-square-foot studio only opened in 2008 and features elaborate sets, sound stages and a state of the art 400-seat theater where Tyler Perry and his staff preview scenes for new movies and ultimately view the final product.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
