‘Leaked’ iPhone5 Appears to Have Bigger Screen

iPhone 5 – Apple has gotten to the point where its fans await the release of new iPhones like a religious experience. So with the expectation that a new iPhone will be upon us in the next couple of weeks, we will be seeing more “leaks” telling us what the phone will look like and what will be in it.

A company called SmartPhone Medic, a smartphone repair service based in Columbia, S.C., claims to have gotten its hands on the newly shipped parts for the iPhone5 and decided to make a video to share their discovery with the world. (One wonders what this means about SmartPhone Medic’s chances of getting substantial Apple business in the future?)

The biggest change seems to be the size of the screen, which looks to be considerably bigger on the 5. Apple also appears to have changed slightly the location of the speaker.

With the new model about to hit the market, now is a great time to trade in your old iPhone for some cash.

Many companies will let you lock in the price of the trade-in and give you a month to give them the old phone. You will get more money now than after the new phones come out because you will be beating the rush and the companies are more likely to assure you a healthy trade-in value now. The companies that buy your old phone typically refurbish them and resell them.

“We always get a rush of people who wait to get a quote until they have the new [iPhone] in their hands,” said Jeff Trachsel, the chief marketing officer for trade-in service NextWorth. “But as the volume increases, the value of your phone declines.”

According to the experts, iPhones hold their value extremely well. At NextWorth, a 16 GB iPhone 4S will get you about $274 if it’s in good condition, while at Gazelle you can get $277 for an AT&T phone or $260 for a Verizon or Sprint device.

If you have an iPhone 4, and you can fetch $175 at NextWorth for an AT&T phone or $162 for a Verizon phone. Gazelle will pay $160 to $165.
