Want to walk in Kanye West’s or Kim Kardashian’s shoes? Well, in the near future you could have that opportunity.
Not literally, of course, but the celebrity couple has set out on a new endeavor in the shoe industry.
West and Kardashian hav begun the beginning stages of creating a new footwear line that surely would capture the imagination of a board scope of fans. Reportedlly, the couple is brainstorming on its target market. There’s Kardashian with the chic, female fan base of millions. And there’s West with the hip-hop legion of fans of the more casual variety.
Together, they cover a lot of ground.
Howard Bragman, the vice chairman of Reputation.com and long-time Hollywood publicist says that their line has the potential to be mega-big.
“The potential is huge,” Bragman said. “They are both brand names that have separately sold millions of dollars worth of product. Kim knows the shoe industry and it makes a lot of sense. This could be a case of one plus one equals three.”
Knowledge of the shoe industry is a plus, but not necessary to be successful, according to Bragman.
“They need to decide who their consumer is and make sure the price point is right,” he added.
Kardashian and West were spotted with PPR CEO Francois-Henri Pinault last week, presumably discussing the potential for a new footwear project.
The two have had their feet in the shoe industry in the past. West previously worked on projects with Giuseppe Zanotti and Kardashian helped in the creation of Shoedazzle.com.
Shoedazzle.com CEO Bill Strauss said that Kardashian has been a valuable asset to the company.
“Kim’s amazing sense of fashion, Hollywood appeal and savvy head for business will surely lead to continued success in the design industry,” he said.
