Laurence Fishburne May Take Down The Cannibal In NBC's 'Hannibal'

Although Laurence Fishburne has checked out from CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, he is apparently not done with playing on the small screen as of yet. The actor is currently in talks to join the cast of NBC’s Hannibal.

According to TVLine, Fishburne will be seen tackling a pivotal role of Jack Crawford, who is the Agent-in-Charge of the Behavioral Science Unit of the FBI in Quantico, Virginia. He will also be the leader in the task of tracking down a certain flesh-eating serial killer.

Hannibal is based on characters in Harris’ novel “Red Dragon.” The series will be based on the early relationship between FBI agent Will Graham and his mentor Dr. Hannibal Lecter. Mads Mikkelsen has been cast to play Hannibal, with Hugh Dancy tapped to portray Graham.

Bryan Fuller and Martha De Laurentiis are the writers and executive producers of the show, which is expected to hit the air in mid-season.
