Johnny Depp has signed on to star in Wes Anderson’s next film, The Grand Budapest Hotel.
Although the official cast hasn’t been set, the actor may be joined by Anderson’s regulars, which may include Owen Wilson, Adrien Brody, and Bill Murray.
This latest news confirm a report from last week that Anderson had approached Depp and other big names actors including Wilson, Murray, Edward Norton and Jude Law — to appear in the then untitled film. With the news of Depp’s joining the cast, it seems likely that The Grand Budapest Hotel will host the rest of the potential stars from that initial report.
The Grand Budapest Hotel will be Anderson’s second hotel-titled film. He directed a short in the past called Hotel Chevalier.
Anderson’s latest film, Moonrise Kingdom hit theaters in May. On the other hand, Johnny Depp’s trailer for his upcoming film The Lone Ranger, recently screen at San Diego Comic-Con. That movie is set for a July 3, 2013 release.
The Grand Budapest Hotel will be produced by Anderson along with Scott Rudin and Indian Paintbrush’s Steven Rales.
