Will Smith along with his Overbrook Entertainment production company has teamed up with J. Michael Straczynski and his media company, Studio JMS, to produce a new TV series.
According to sources, the new show titled Epidemic, is currently in development although details on what the series is based on aren’t yet known.
This new deal is part of Studio JMS’s new launch. The new multi-media company is set to produce digital content, TV series, feature films, comic books, and video games.
Straczynski’s credits includes writing and producing TV shows such as Babylon 5 Crusade, and Jeremiah. He also wrote scripts for a respectable number of movies including Thor, Ninja Assassin, Underworld Awakening and Changeling. From 2001 to 2007, Straczynski was the writer for the long-running Marvel comic book series The Amazing Spider-Man. In 2009, he was nominated for the BAFTA Award for his screenplay Changeling.
At this time, it isn’t clear whether Will Smith will star in the new show or not. More details coming soon…
