Willow Smith has a point to prove: her ever changing hairstyles, her fake tongue ring and her eclectic fashion choices do not make up who she is nor does she care what you think of it.
“People don’t like the way I dress, or where I’m at. I dye my hair and it’s not just vanity,” sings the 11-year old on “I Am Me.”
To drive her point home Willow wears one lonely outfit for the entire video, an over-sized yellow shirt, skinny jeans, striped socks and a black bowler hat. She continues,
“Your validation is just not that important to me. I am me, I am free. That’s all I can be.”
Willow sounds great on this song. And while it may not be her best fashion moment – it was for a great message.
