Beyonce drew the spotlight at the BET Awards for her silk chartreuse one-shouldered Stephane Rolland gown with a slit up the side, reminiscent of the black Atelier Versace creation that Angelina Jolie wore to the Academy Awards earlier this year that drew a barrage of criticism because of the extremes Jolie went to show off her right leg.
With Beyonce it was the left leg, and as she stood on stage to accept her award for Video Director of the Year, she tugged on the Rolland gown to show her great legs through the slit. The silk gown hugged Beyonce in all the right places, assisted by the mirrored asymmetrical belt that cinched around her waist.
Jolie’s slit drew so much attention that people created actual tribute videos and parody videos on the Internet, mocking and praising her leg and the various poses she struck to show her right leg.
It remains to be seen whether Beyonce will inspire a slew of critics and fans creating their own Internet tributes to her Rolland slit.
