Katie Holmes, Tom Cruise Divorce – Shocking! Tom Cruise has confirmed his wife of five years Katie Holmes filed for divorce. For the last few days Katie was spotted out and about with her and Tom’s 6-year old daughter Suri showing no indication of a looming divorce.
The couple’s lawyer released this statement in part to People.com,
“This is a personal and private matter for Katie and her family,” said attorney Jonathan Wolfe. “Kate has filed for divorce and Tom is deeply saddened and is concentrating on his three children. Katie’s primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter’s best interest.”
Many people were shocked when Tom, 49 married Kate 33, in 2006 but now the shock is over their abrupt divorce.
Meanwhile Time.com has already worked out a possibly outcome of Katie’s prenuptial agreement:
“Holmes would be awarded $3 million for each year that she and Cruise, 49, were married — up to a possible $33 million. She will also receive the couple’s home in Montecito, Calif. If their marriage had lasted more than 11 years, Holmes would have received half of Cruises’s reportedly $250 million fortune.”
