Update: Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are divorcing and it seems for real this time, unlike similar reports in 2011, according to People.
Tom Cruise reacted to the shocking split news by saying it’s wife Katie Holmes who’s filing for divorce after five years of marriage.
“Kate has filed for divorce and Tom is deeply saddened and is concentrating on his three children,” says a statement from his rep. “Please allow them their privacy to work this out.”
According to reports, Katie Holmes filed divorce documents in New York anonymously yesterday, on June 28, seeking sole custody of their daughter, Suri. Holmes also seeks division of property assets and child support, but makes no mention of the prenup they created under California law before their wedding.
The Rock of Ages star, 49, wed Holmes, 33, in November 2006. They have daughter Suri, 6.
