Baylor’s Perry Jones’ Knees May Cost Him In NBA Draft

Forward Perry Jones II of Baylor, a projected lottery pick in tonight’s NBA Draft, could fall in the selection process because of concerns about his knee.

League sources say NBA team doctors have a degree of alarm about a meniscus and that eventually he could need surgery. Of course, this kind of concern scares general managers, who try so hard to not make an obvious mistake.

Some teams seem to be more concerned than others, but Jones could slide from the mid-to-late lottery portion of the draft to the late teens or early 20s of the round.

Ohio State’s Jared Sullinger, once a projected top 5 pick, was not invited to the draft because projections are that a bad back will drop him out of the lottery.
