Maura Tierney has landed a role on CBS’ The Good Wife.
The former ER actress has received a part in the fourth season of the show along with British actor Marc Warren.
In The Good Wife, the network describes Tierney’s role as a “self-made millionaire who has become the doyenne* of Chicago Democratic politics.” Warren will play Kalinda’s (Archie Panjabi) “manipulative ex-husband, to whom she has an attraction that she finds impossible to ignore.”
Tierney joined NBC’s hit medical drama ER in Season 6. Her character Nurse Abby Lockhart replaced the void of Margulies’ Nurse Carol Hathaway. After Margulies left the series, Tierney’s character became a main lead during the second half of ER‘s run that season. Tierney later earned an Emmy nomination for her efforts. After leaving ER, Tierney later played on FX’s Rescue Me and was a guest star on the NBC comedy The Office.
Both characters, Tierney and Warren will be introduced in the show’s September season premiere.
