Kim Kardashian opened up to Oprah Winfrey about her high-profile relationship with rapper Kanye West. The interview was a part of the second installment of the Oprah’s Next Chapter episode featuring the beauty and her family.
For the Keeping Up with the Kardashians starlet, the relationship was dependent on timing. “We met almost a decade ago, we’ve known each other for a very long time, we’ve been friends for six or seven years,” Kardashian said. “I don’t know why it took us so long to get together. I think we’ve always had an attraction to each other, but we’ve always been in other relationships or it wasn’t the right timing.”
Kardashian insists her relationship with the “Watch the Throne” rapper isn’t a publicity stunt. “It’s your heart you’re playing with,” she said. “I couldn’t sacrifice my heart for a publicity stunt.” Although Kardashian admitted that West fit her image of the man for her, understandably she isn’t hearing wedding bells in the near future. “I’m not thinking about marriage right now,” she told Winfrey. “To have him in my life this way, says a lot about us.”
She also opened up on the perceived images of herself and her beau. She isn’t too concerned about West’s “bad boy” persona because she knows how deceiving appearances can be. “I hardly drink, I go to church on Sundays,” she continued. “I’m so far removed from my image.”
