Jim Carrey Exits 'Dumb & Dumber 2'

Jim Carrey had his mind made up about doing the sequel to Dumb & Dumber, but after a lack of enthusiasm from the studio, Carrey has decided to  exited the project.

In an interview with ComingSoon.net back in April, Carrey said, “We’re talking about maybe returning to some old characters that everyone has been asking about, There’s Bruce Almighty and we’re talking about maybe another Dumb and Dumber.”

Now in a recent interview with ET, Carrey stated, “Maybe it’s time to focus on Bruce Almighty 2.” The actor has officially back out of the project saying it’s because of studios, New Line and Warner Bros’ lack of enthusiasm.

Filming was supposed to begin this fall, with both Carrey and Jeff Daniels returning to their roles as Lloyd and Harry. The story was going to pick up 18 years later and explain what they’ve been doing from when the first movie ended.

It’s unclear if Dumb & Dumber is going to move on without Carrey, who seem to be instrumental in the whole production from the beginning. Without Carrey involved in the project all you have left is  dumb.
