President Obama Heckled by Conservative Reporter

The disrespect continues: President Obama got interrupted again during a major speech, this time by a reporter.

Just like when South Carolina Congressman Joe Wilson screamed out “You lie” during a 2009 Obama speech to Congress, this heckling by reporter Neil Munro from the conservative Daily Caller is leading many observers to wonder whether these actions from the right wing are prompted by the president’s skin color as much as his policies.

Munro jumped in just as the president was finishing a sentence about his executive order stopping deportations for a select group of young immigrants.

President Obama:  — the right thing to do.

Munro:    — foreigners over American workers.

President Obama:  Excuse me, sir. It’s not time for questions, sir.

Munro:    No, you have to take questions.

President Obama:  Not while I’m speaking.

The publisher of the Daily Caller, Neil Patel, claimed his reporter was just trying to time his question to coincide with the end of the president’s remarks. But watching the clip, it’s clear that the president wasn’t finished. Even a small child (hopefully) knows that you must wait until your parent finishes speaking before you can chime in.

“I timed the question believing the president was closing his remarks, because naturally I have no intention of interrupting the president of the United States,” Munro explained. “I know he rarely takes questions before walking away from the podium. When I asked the question as he finished his speech, he turned his back on the many reporters and walked away while I and at least one other reporter asked questions.
