Actress Yvette Wilson has died after losing her clash with cervical cancer. A source close to Wilson, Jeffrey Pittle, confirmed that she passed away on Thursday around 7 p.m.
Wilson was best known for her role as Andell on UPN’s hit TV show Moesha. The actress also played alongside comedian Mo’nique in The Parkers. As for movies, Wilson appeared in the films House Party 2, House Party 3 and Friday.
Shar Jackson, who was Wilson’s co-star on Moesha took to Twitter to express her feelings about the loss of her friend.
“Oh God. My heart is soooo unbelievably broken,” Jackson posted. “I wanna thank all my tweeties for their prayers but God has chosen to take my sister Yvette home.”
Back in January of this year, Wilson’s friend created a website to help raise money for the actress’ medical bills.
“Yvette has experienced kidney failure, kidney transplants and cervical cancer, among other things,” written on the sit. “Her cancer has come back after an extended retreat, and doctors are saying it’s very aggressive this time out.”
Wilson was only 48-years-old at the time of her death.
