After the astronomical success of Marvel’s/Paramount’s Avengers, Warner Bros. has unsurprisingly put in motion the revival of their own DC Superhero Ensemble, Justice League.
According to a Variety report, the studio has begun making plans to put more DC superheroes on the big screen after Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale wrap up the Batman trilogy with The Dark Knight Rises and Zack Snyder‘s Superman movie, Man of Steel, debuts in 2013.
Similar to how Paramount rolled out the Avengers, Warner Bros. may build up to the Justice League by releasing a series of origin films featuring characters such as Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman, Green Arrow, Lobo, Suicide Squad and Shazam. Each DC character was in various stages of development before Warn Bros. regained control of them three years ago, reported Variety.
The studio is also in the process of deciding whether or not they will reboot Green Lantern and Batman. A script for Ryan Reynolds Green Lantern sequel has already been commissioned, but due to how poorly the film performed, the studio may lean towards a reboot.
This news indicates that studios will continue to try to bank off the way that comic movies are resonating with audiences and theaters will be filled with more of our favorite comic book superheroes for years to come. Do you look forward to more superhero movies are do you think they are getting tired already?
